Today Tuesday, November 15 2016 an article was printed in the Daily Herald under the heading Immigration Officer arrested for human trafficking, bribery.   The salient, potent, reality on Sint Maarten is the inability of the (state), to properly police itself hence the many opportunities for criminal activity to manifest throughout all levels of Government. The woman J.M. was arrested by the Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling Unit of the St Maarten police Force. Her partner D.F. was also arrested at 7:00 today. Gino Bernadina the spokesman for the Prosecutor’s Office said: “ The arrests are the results of a lengthy investigation that has been ongoing since April 2016, code-named ‘Ostrich’.
