The world is likely to face a food crisis by 2050 unless agricultural production increases. The Food and Agricultural Organization estimates that there will be an additional two billion mouths to feed in the world within the next thirty-five years. The growth of the world’s population along with increased urbanization is expected to increase the demand for agricultural produce by some 70 per cent by 2050. The ability of many countries to meet this demand will be affected by climate change. The global phenomenon of climate change is resulting in increased desertification and the depletion of freshwater supplies. Guyana’s abundance of land and freshwater supplies for agricultural purposes places it in an enviable position to take advantage of the increased demand for food globally. Opportunities for increased agricultural markets exist within the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). The Region’s agriculture’s sector share of Gross Development Product (GDP) declined from 13 percent ...

Heed Muslims’ grievances or more will go to ISIS from Trinidad and Tobago.

The following post from the Guardian newspaper on Trinidad and Tobago is a salient potent reality of the eminent threat that the Islamic State poses not only Trinidad and Tobago but the Caribbean in general. Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean is being used by Salafist groups, as an experiment in asserting Sunni Islamist hegemony in the region. The article was published on   Sunday, June 25, 2017. Hajj Nezar Hamze, centre, speaks during a function with local Muslim representatives last week. PHOTO: MICHEAL BRUCE Heed the grievances of T&T Muslims or people may become susceptible to the Islamic State’s (ISIS) recruitment pitches. This is because Isis recruiters will not stop working and legislation alone may not curb the situation in T&T. That advice has been telegraphed to Government by Hajj Nezar Hamze, a US deputy sherrif from Broward County in Florida, who is an expert in countering the narrative of violent extremism and terrorist organi...

Islamic terrorists said to raise cash in Caribbean and Latin America to attack US

Islamic terrorists said to raise cash in Caribbean and Latin America to attack US Published on January 10, 2017      Cross posted from Caribbean News Now. I cross posted this post from Caribbean News Now, since it featured prominently Adnan G el-Shukrijumah, the al-Qaeda highly placed Guyanese operative, who I wrote about http://nazaritze-lionzman.blogspot.com/2016/12/the-guyanese-al-qaeda-operative-and.html What is remarkable is the preponderance of terrorist activity regionally, which is severely underreported. A perfect example of the pathological response of the Caribbean “eliet”, to any mention of and exposure of political corruption and their aiding of illicit narco-trafficking which in turn bolsters terrorsit’s and their activity in  the Caribbean, is the firing of Daurius Figueira from his post as a UWI Professor (Criminologist) and lecturer. I mention Figueira repeatedly in post’s since, his stature, depth and education places him in the ...

Proof that Dana Seetahal’s murder was conducted by professional hit men.

In an article titled “ No takers for $ 3.5m reward offered for Dana’s killer ” published in the Sunday Guardian of May 11, 2014 the Minister of National Security of T&T is reported as stating that there is no evidence that the assassination of May 4, 2014 was the “ work of highly trained individuals”. The minister is reported as stating that the shooter used a small handgun at close range to effect the assassination and there was no Latin American gang killer, sniper or hired assassin. The minister is then insisting that the assassination was the product of home grown talent and that the modus operandi was in effect not a well-planned, precision attack. The minister is well advised to grasp the political reality and insist that the assassination was the action of transnational organised crime and rally the nation around the present government in light of this most potent threat.  Because after the dismantling of SAUTT and the covert civilian intelligence agencies t...

INTERVIEW: Abu Sa’d at-Trinidadi.

In 2003 I authored a book entitled: “ Rastafari and its Hindu Origins”, on page 83 I wrote: The Caribbean region will figure greatly in the upcoming years as a region that is part of the Arab Israeli question. The island of Trinidad and Tobago has gone unnoticed in international circles as a haven for extremist Muslim rhetoric. The attempted coup by the Jamaat al-Muslimeen , is an example of Muslim extremism in the rtegion. Extremists in Trinidad will prove to be a security threat in the region in years to come. The tendency of Arab extremist organizations to train and finance Muslim extremists in other parts of the world have proven true in Trinidad and Tobago!  What follows is an interview with a Islamic State fighter from Trinidad and Tobago (Caribbean). Just as in Belgium, Bengal, France and many other nations globally, before carrying out operations in those countries. The Islamic State always interviewed a key member, from the area knowledgeable with specific cities’ infr...

An operation carried out by Islamist’s eminent in Caribbean.

In 2003 I published a book entitled Rastafari and its Hindu Origins, which I subsequently renamed Rastafari and its Shamanist Origins.  In the chapter titled:  A Changing Caribbean,  I wrote that: “ The Caribbean region will figure greatly in the upcoming years as a region that is part of the Arab-Israeli question. The island of Trinidad and Tobago has gone unnoticed in international circles as a haven for extremist Muslim rhetoric. The attempted coup led by the Jamaat al-Muslimeen in Trinidad is an example of Muslim extremism in the region. The tendency of Arab Muslim extremists to train and finance Muslim extremists in other parts of the world has also proven true in Trinidad and Tobago.   Today 2016 , thirteen years later newspaper reports, both in the print and online mediums abound all validating my prediction bolstered by factual data. Looptt.com posted online on November 16 2015 that: “After ISIS claimed responsibility for the terror attacks in Paris l...
