The following post from the Guardian newspaper on Trinidad and Tobago is a salient potent reality of the eminent threat that the Islamic State poses not only Trinidad and Tobago but the Caribbean in general. Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean is being used by Salafist groups, as an experiment in asserting Sunni Islamist hegemony in the region. The article was published on   Sunday, June 25, 2017. Hajj Nezar Hamze, centre, speaks during a function with local Muslim representatives last week. PHOTO: MICHEAL BRUCE Heed the grievances of T&T Muslims or people may become susceptible to the Islamic State’s (ISIS) recruitment pitches. This is because Isis recruiters will not stop working and legislation alone may not curb the situation in T&T. That advice has been telegraphed to Government by Hajj Nezar Hamze, a US deputy sherrif from Broward County in Florida, who is an expert in countering the narrative of violent extremism and terrorist organi...

Law enforcement on Trinidad after Muslims shot their way out of prison. A report in the Guardian on Trinidad and Tobago featured the following article, by Gail Alexander on Wednesday, June 14, 2017. Discussions by regional stakeholders and international experts strategised on tackling areas - from arms, financing and returning fighters, to preventing radicalisation - to build a collaborative regional framework to deal with terrorism. 12 Trinidad nationals deported from Turkey caught with ISIS recruiter in 2016.

This just in 12 persons all nationals of Trinidad and Tobago who were detained.d in Turkey since 2016, have all been deported back to their home country They arrived in Trinidad on Friday, 28, 2017. As I have indicated in numerous post’s on this Blog and on my Soualiga Youth Blog https://soualigayouth.wordpress.com/2017/04/11/regional-guides-to-life-after-islamic-state/ The returning fighters from Trinidad and Tobago who are returning to Trinidad will be a totally new and unpredictable reality not only for that country but they already have and will continue to alter the reality of the region, to the point of no return. Their fighting skill far exceeds that of the regional police, no regional military has seen a quarter of the combat that these combatants have. Their value to say narcotics trafficking cartel or an organization like the Jamaat al-Muslimeen is inestimable. The male combatants who return to the region, are a source of military, know how, a skill which can be outso...
