Letter to the Editor: Our KPSM (Police Force) April 26, 2017.

The following is a letter to the editor on 721 News Gromyko Wilson’s local news website. The letter is a damning condemnation of the corrupt system of governance locally and particularly the police corp and all other security and intelligence apparatus on Sint Maarten. The letter came from the KPSM, which stands for the Korps Politie Sint Maarten/The Sint Maarten Police Force. We were not prophets, but we saw it coming. From the decision that 10-10-10 the Antilles would be dissolved, we saw the misery, and we saw it right in our own organization, the Police Force. We saw managers after managers come and go. Waste and drain all the government’s money, without bringing any stabilization or balance in this Force. Nowadays, we’re coping with a management team that had never been prepared for the task that fell into their lap. No strategy, no preparation, no skills, no priority, no vision. Brownbill Arrested in Emerald Investigation.

In another example of the endemic corruption and criminality extant within the present system of governance the young MP shown above in photo Chanel Brownbill ,  who was being hailed as an example of local boy made good, has been arrested. The so called Emerald investigation is an ongoing criminal investigation, whose chief suspect according to the Public Prosecutor remains O Neil Arrindell, owner of Checkmate Security. PHILIPSBURG--United St. Maarten party (USP) Member of Parliament Chanel Brownbill has been detained by authorities on Wednesday morning along with two other suspects in connection with the Emerald investigation. Brownbill and the other suspects in the case are suspected of forgery and tax evasion. Al-Qaeda Linked Moroccan male: On an Interpol alert escaped and travelling in eastern Caribbean.

PHILIPSBURG – The KPSM is informing the general public concerning information that was received via Interpol and Caricom Operations of a dangerous subject who fled from Martinique and is wanted by Martinique authorities. Rachid  Rafaa This subject has ties to the terror group al-Qaeda. The subject is believed to have used private boats or aircrafts to be able to travel. The suspect might be traveling through the Eastern Caribbean islands and this puts Sint Maarten on alert as being a tourist destination. The subject is named: Rachid Rafaa, born in Morocco June 30th 1976. The subject may be using false identification for traveling purposes.
