JEFF FORT AND THE SUPER CHICAGO GANG THAT HELPED SPAWN THE BLOODS: The Almighty Black P Stone Nation.
The following is an addendum to the various articles
on this site pertinent to the influence of, black esoteric and quasi Islamic philosophy
in Hip-Hop.
Wayne “Silk” Perry, a.k.a. Shaka Zulu Bey El a notorious African American
hitman. Perry was a member of the Moorish Science Temple. The hulking Jeff Fort
at right (described as charismatic, an organizational genius and diplomatic). Wether
Perry was a member of the Moorish Temple began by Noble Drew Ali below,
is not known to me, no doubt, though he is from D.C. Perry was influenced by
the type of violence and ruthlessness used by Fort and others in the quasi
Islamic groups, many of whom are no more than gangs. What is a fact , is the
following, Noble Drew Ali’s philosophy is adhered to by a great deal of black
drug dealers and other street oriented elements in the African America
community. Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff
was an adherent of the principles taught by the Nation of Gods and Earth’s an
organization that adheres to the teachings of Ali. Seth Ferranti in unparralled
fashion laid bare the rise and down fall of Kenneth “Supreme” Mc Griff and his Supreme Team, in his book : “The Supreme Team: The Birth of Crack and
Hip-Hop” . As is my fashion I will allow the characters that Ferranti built
his book on to speak for themselves, Ferranti interviewed some of the most
notorious and also some of the unknowns from the Supreme Teams heyday,
including Supreme himself, as such his book is a “real life” narrative of one of the gang’s that influenced and
birthed the Hip-Hop swagger of today.
Jeff Fort one of the most
notorious African American gangsters and would be terrorist aka Abdullah Malik,
a Black Pyramid Stone better known as the Black P Stone Rangers, changed the
gang’s name to El Rukn, (shown above), Arabic for corner stone, hence the
pyramid in their logo. The El Rukn was,
more than a ‘gang”, it was a quasi
religious cultic, organization with a written constitution, that combined
criminal activity and legal enterprise to further their goals.
An example of the El Rukn using
legal means to accomplish goals is the arrest of Jeff Fort in 1972 for the
mismanagement of government grants totalling $927000, from The Office of
Economic opportunity. In 1986 Fort was arrested for plotting terrorist attacks
on the government of the United States of America. Fort was in direct contact
with Libyan operatives under the guidance of Muanmar Ghaddafi, Ghaddafi wanted
to give Fort more than a million dollars in the furtherance of terrorist
attacks on US soil. The El Rukn was also in an alliance with the Black Panther
Party for Self Defence. With the arrests of Fort and other high ranking
members, the El Rukn splintered into different factions and no longer exists
under that name; they are now an ostensibly Islamic group with Fort as their
spiritual head. The gang is also known as the Almighty Black P Stone Nation. T
Rodgers an O.G. in the Black P Stone Bloods of Los Angeles is originally from
Chicago. In his personal account of his life he says that he was a member of
the Black Stone gang in Chicago. Rogers is a co-founder by his own account of
the Bloods in L.A. Rogers is a published author, a gang consultant and a
community activist.
The El Rukn above standing around
outside of their headquarters, in Chicago. From left to right El Rukns in their
base the ‘Fort”. The book that Noble
Drew Ali wrote and called it “The Holy Koran
of The Moorish Science Temple of America”, also called the Circle Seven
Koran. Drew told many tall tales, fables and myths concerning his origins, in
one version he is the son of a Moroccan and a Cherokee Indian, in another he is
the son of former slaves the latter being the most likely scenario. Drew
claimed that he met an Egyptian high priest who initiated him into the mystery
school of Egyptian magic, which if true would make him a wizard. Drew thinks
that he is the reincarnation of Jesus and virtually every “prophet” of most of the known, world religions. Drews so called Koran above is an amalgam of
Rosicrucianism, and the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ: The philosophic
and Practical Basis of the Religion of the Aquarian Age of the World and The Church
Universal (aka, The Akashic records), which was written by an
esotericist named Levi Dowling, who lived in that hot bed of witchcraft
activity in the US, the state of Ohio.
Dowling has been identified by his followers as an ascended master, in
the same vein as El Morya and the Maitreya, based on the documented evidence in
Levi’s book named in the preceding and his adherence to the New Age philosophy
I know I can safely say that his teaching were unscriptural i.e. false. Since
Ali founded his philosophy on a false doctrine where does that leave those
presently adhering to his doctrine? Another “Islamic”
offshoot is from the Nation of Islam, this sect is called The Nation of Gods
and Earths, founded by Clarence 13X born Clarence Smith he is said to be a student
of Malcolm X. He taught that all black men and women are Gods and that the
women are Earth, hence their name. They adhere to a set of principles called
Supreme mathematics which is similar to numerology and Kabalism, additionally
there are a set of teachings called the 120 lessons. The NOGE has influenced
Hip Hop profoundly and many rappers are themselves Five Percenters or are
influenced by Five Percenter teaching. The Hip Hop lexicon is peppered with
Five Percenter phraseology such as “dropping
science”, word is bond, word to the mother, word to life, ciphers, 360° and
many other phrases too numerous to mention. Famous rappers who adhere to Five
Percenter philosophy are RZA, (who describes himself as a meta-spiritualist
incorporating, Zen , Five Percenter teachings and more into his personal
practice) basically the entire Wu tang clan, Rakim Allah (whose name is in true
Five Percenter tradition), Big Daddy Kane, Bran Nubians, Poor Righteous
Teachers and many more.
